Today's Best Faucets

If you are looking for convenience and good daily claim totals I'd suggest grabbing these Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash apps from Google Play:

They are the best two faucets I am currently aware of:

When you first install these apps they will ask for your email as a unique identifier. Shortly after you will see a large list of options. The first one will say "Hourly Claim Available" whenever you can claim more crypto. When you click that you'll see a claim screen as shown to the left.

As an app, it won't pester you for annoying captcha's. I can't even express how annoying they become when used for regular faucet claims!

Obviously, you can take it with you and it can give you an audible alert when another claim is available. This convenient access makes it easier to grab more claims in a day.
While this is all pretty simple there are a few things that will help you get started. Most importantly, make sure you don't confuse Bitcoin Cash (BCH) with bitcoin (BTC).

You will need a wallet/address for each type of coin you claim, but there are decent wallets that work with many different coins.

Finally, claiming tips. You get two free spins for every hourly claim. A spin is basically a random selection from the bottom group of numbers. If you are lucky, the "spin" will stop on a coin icon. If that happens the spin is "promoted" into a better payout pool. You can watch ads if you want more chances to get a better payout.

One more thing, BCH is worth more than LTC so don't trivially give up on BCH because it feels like you don't get as much! Oh, I should mention, there are is a "bonus claim available" notice. I generally use it if my claim was lower than usual.

Holiday Faucet Finds

During the holidays I found a few faucets that are Android apps. In case you are brand new to this concept, faucets are places that allow you to get small portions of cryptocurrency for free. Well, almost free. You have to visit the site, sign up, and often perhaps solve a captcha.

In return, the faucet will let you retrieve a small amount of cryptocurrency from time to time. Each faucet will set up its own payout schedule and quantity -- usually very small quantities.

Many faucets are a bit clunky. Perhaps they are run by a single person who understands exactly how their site works but does realize that you or I don't. This can be a bit frustrating and you may just decide to avoid some of the faucets as it isn't worth hassling with anything for something usually worth a small fraction of a cent.

However, apps generally don't require a captcha as your phone will have already authenticated you! That doesn't eliminate advertising but it can eliminate captchas.

I'll write up a review of these apps soon...

Kitchen Table Crypto

Not everyone involved in crypto has a full wallet. A lot of us are using faucets as a slow way to collect enough to start accumulating useful amounts of value.  As the name "Kitchen Table Crypto" suggests, this is going to be a down-to-earth casual discussion.  Nobody is going to be talking about the more technical issues of cryptocurrencies here.

What I'm hoping for, If I'm lucky, is to have a low-key hobby that provides contact with similarly-minded folks who might enjoy seeing how many crypto pennies can be found lying around. If that's you, grab a coffee and take a seat...
